Marc Jacobs Fall 2009

On the heels of the Stephen Sprouse Collection that Marc Jacobs did for Louis Vuitton his fall 2009 Collection for his own label acts as yet another look into the world that the now forty-something Jacobs once knew in the 80's. This inspiration is undeniable just have a look at the girls make-up. If you didn't know you might think Duran Duran's Rio step off of the album cover and onto the runway. For me the strong shoulders the vibrant colors felt so fresh and totally hip. Jacobs has a knack for giving the people what they want no matter the price. It is obvious that Jacobs was not taking the recession into account, but cheers to him for making us dream and yearn for a time that once was. The shapes and overall treatment of the clothes makes this a modern an very desirable look. In the coming months you will definitely be getting more bang for you buck!!

On the Bowery (December)

Patricia feilds 302 bowery is the reason you need to come to New York.
Once my friend arrived we were greeted by friendly associates all
dressed as if the were on there way to the most whmisical rave once
past the forest of lame, lace, and sequined bodysuits who do I notice
parusing the racks but the one an only Patricia Feilds herself!!!! I
was at first shocked that she would just be in her own shop all the
time but after shopping and chatting it up with some really fun
assciates (specifically a black girl styled similarly to M.I.A. named
Day) we found that she pops in alot always unannounced. After we made
our purchases I went to go find "Pat" as the associates called her to
have her sign my shirt and have my photo taken with her but when we
made our way to the entrance level she had left. We thank the
associates for a good time and made our way out but returned to ask
about places to have dinner they suggested we go to ACME which was
amazing.

Changing Times

On a recent shopping trip, I stopped by Vuitton Charleston to pick up a refill or two for my notebook and see the Stephen Sprouse Collection. I was alarmed by the amount of people out shopping and once more by the large purchases being made. On this rainy Saturday I figured I would not have much trouble capturing the attention of my regular salesperson. After a quick peruse of the Sprouse collection I moved through the Women shop to the leather-goods. I found that the two salespeople that I have come to know where more than busy. One was showing a husband and wife the largest possible hard-sided suitcase and a few keepall bags. The other was helping a twenty something female decide between two of the same bags GM or PM. Standing for a moment not getting any acknowledgment I moved back to the main salon. Yet another salesperson was helping a woman narrow her selection of five bags to two of which she certainly was going to purchase. These changing times became apparent to me at this moment. What Recession? I muttered to myself. Who would expect to have to queue at Louis Vuitton Charleston, maybe at the Champs Elysees. But on this day I did wait. After a moment I commented to the women trying to decide between the bags "The Ebony Damier looks so chic" the saleswoman excuses herself and asks me If she could help me. To my chagrin she told me that they were out of the refills that I had requested on my way out I was stopped by Jaret (Sales Associate) who also asked what I was looking for he confirmed my disappointment but asked how I was enjoying my last purchase of the Stephen Sprouse Book? His simple yet amazing act of customer service made me remember why I love shopping at Louis Vuitton even in these changing times.

Get a Job: In the Closet

Due to the current state of the economy it is hard as hell to get a job. On a recent visit to a shall I say large architectural firm in Atlanta.
