Hermes and Balenciaga
These images of the current Hermes ad campaign are so sublime I figured I would post them. They put you in this dream world, which is probably best because once you see the price tags on these legendary products you will wish you were dreaming.During the Spring 2009 Balenciaga Show there were a few men's looks that were great so Nicholas Ghesquière did an equally great campaign so enjoy these images.

Buy Some Scraps and Make some Crap!!
You’ve got to hand it to American Apparel- they’re always finding new ways to make tired cotton and spandex duds into something exciting and marketable. In perhaps it’s more extreme permutation, American Apparel will now be bypassing design and production altogether and opting to sell the Bag-O-Scraps which the AA website describes as :
“collected cuttings from some of your favorite fun fabrics from around the American Apparel factory to make one-of-a-kind bags of scrap fabrics. Use them for all sorts of arts and crafts. Make clever jewelry, accessories, a card for your grandma or a colorful hanging sculpture for your apartment. Each bag comes with a zine (printed on scrap paper, of course) with five fun and easy scrap projects, complete with how-to instructions.”
It’ll be interesting to see the kinds of designs AA wearers who buy the Bag-O-Scraps will be able to come up with, and whether they will be more or less scantily clad than their current models.Bag-O-Scraps

Arndt Menke- Zumbragel: woodway bicycle
Berlin designer arndt menke- zumbragel is the creator of this unique bicycle made using wood.
The project began by investigating the use of wood as a construction material, paying close attention to its particular considerations. the result is a fully functional bike with a frame weight of 2.3 kg.(5.07lbs) with some special metal parts and carefully constructed wood pieces, arndt has created a bike that blends new and old together into one unique package. Be sure to check out the bent wood detail on the rear support, so elegant it would make Michael Thonet green with envy. I find the Fixed geared bicycle interesting because of its simplicity, the form and function are matched. In the sense that all parts and pieces are necessary to create a finished piece of elegant machinery.
